One of several significant additions to the Admiral Liv AWOL team for the 2017/18 season is the experienced and very talented U23 rider, Charlotte Broughton, who will be riding as one of the team leaders on the road.
Charlotte started out with grass roots riding at her local club, Leicester Off Road Club, at the age of 4 and from there she developed into a very competent road racer, going on to win the European Tour of Assen twice, 2nd in the European Youth Olympics Road Race in 2013 and winning 10 British titles across cyclocross, circuit racing and track.
She was on the British Cycling Talent Team on track for two years, but then declined a place on the Olympic Development Programme (now Junior Academy) in order to focus on her studies. She has also represented Team GB at Alkmaar, an international track event in 2016.
More recently, Charlotte was placed 4th overall in The Tour Series this season and last season she was on podium with 3rd overall.
Charlotte told us, “I have a real love for all things cycling and I’m really looking forward to using my knowledge and experience, both good and bad to help develop riders in the team. I’m also big on poetry and politics.”
Charlotte’s previous teams/clubs include: Team Ford Ecoboost, Team Corley Cycles, MG Decor, Leicestershire Road Club, Leicestershire Off Road Club, Mid Shropshire Wheelers.
She will be riding on Road for Admiral Liv AWOL.
